Auditions for Easter will be announced soon

Looking for actors in their late 20's to 30's. This is an excellent opportunity for theatre majors, graduate students and those looking to build their theatrical resume. The goal of this ensemble is to build community within an established theatre environment. There will be a two and half week rehearsal process prior to each production. The rehearsal schedule will be left to the discretion of the "ensemble members" and director. Each non-cast male and female will be the production stage manager for the opposite production. All roles are paid a stipend

EASTER by Will Scheffer:

Matthew Ransom- 30s, married to Wilma. Matt has a bit of a violent streak to him, which Wilma on occasion will bring out in her.  He was a football player in high school.  He tries to hold everything together but longs for the life they had before their newborn died seven years ago.

Wilma Ransom- 30s, married to Matt.  Wilma was a cheerleader in high school who seemed to “float,” according to her husband Matthew.  Since the death of her newborn child seven years go, she has seemingly lost touch with reality.  She has begun setting fire to churches.

Zaddock Pratt- 40s, owner of general store and bar.  Claims to have a steel plate in his head due to an old war injury.  He later reveals to Matt that this is not true, but that he hears woke up one day having someone else dreams.  His revelations or outburts seem almost prophetic

Herman Warm- 20s, plumber.  Herman helps bring Wilma the sign that she’s been looking for.  In turn, Wilma accepts Herman into her heart.  She even washes his feet with her hair, as though he is her savior.  At times, his words overlap with Wilma’s giving the impression that they are one.  Wilma believes his hands are “beautiful.”  He tells her that he exists for her.  He also plays violin.

Auditions: March 15 & 16 at 6:30
The following are the character descriptions provided by the creators. However we are looking to expand the size of the show due to the breadth of music in it. Please use the following only as a guideline for the vocal ranges. We would also welcome vocally talented young people from the 9th grade and above to audition for this show.
WOMAN 1  G3 thru D#5  (though G3 thru E5 is a plus)  A bright-eyed ingénue, subtly reminiscent of the young Judy Garland but capable of playing a more sensual part in Act Two.
WOMAN 2  F#3 thru D5  (though F3 thru E5 is a plus)  A worldly chanteuse, subtly reminiscent of the older Judy Garland but secure enough to be a trustworthy emcee - a gal who's been-there-done-that but has an admirable attitude about it.

MAN 1  A2 thru E4  (though G#2 thru A4 is a plus)  A vaudevillian performer subtly reminiscent of the young Mickey Rooney, but capable of coming across as real in ballads.

MAN 2  G2 thru D#4  (though G2 thru F#4 is a plus)  Less an impersonator of Mickey Rooney than a grown man to counter-balance Man 1 - a solid, musical theatre emcee  perhaps the man Mickey Rooney might have become had he stayed purely a Broadway song and dance man.

Please prepare TWO songs that shows your vocal range. We suggest preparing songs from the American Songbook or the Garland and Rooney era. An Accompanist will be provided. You will also be asked to cold read from the script.

We are also seeking Musicians for this production
